Barber Photographic & Fine Arts Resource Center

The concept of the design is to establish intimate connection between the building and the site.

The layout of the building to the terrain, the ever present praire grasses reflected on the multipurpose hall and the use of limestone quarried from the bedrock are intended to make the building grow out of its own site.

Photograhper's House & Studio

The transversing rectangular forms are derived from the adjacent freeways that define the edges of the site. One of the forms is specialized for circulation to evoke a strong sense of movement in the building.

The elongated form is intended to bridge the chasm between the park and the river through a dyanmic continuity. The glass structure used at the opposite ends is to dissolve the building into the respective landscapes.

The form and spatial layout of the building is inspired from the steep hill at the background and the busy traffic street layed at front.

Nude Descending a Staircase - INTERPRETATION

A human figure in motion, in a style inspired by Cubist ideas about the deconstruction of forms. There is nothing in it resembling an anatomical nude, only abstract lines and planes. The lines suggest her successive static positions and create a rhythmic sense of motion.

Library & Museum Extension

Preserving the existing historical structure while introducing a new contemporary extension suiting to its time is intended to enrich the architectural layer of the complex.
By generously opening the building to the public, an inviting space is created to increase the spatial vitality of the place.

An Intergenerational Day Care Center

The dynamic notion of forms interlocking one to another in attempt to stimulate the environment by allowing ingenuous touch of the sun light where by casting ever present shadows to define the private and public space. The exciting gestures of the forms anticipate symmetry and order to manifest design solution in a course of TIME.
The sloping site consists of two buildings. One building is the intergenerational day-care center and elderly service houses. The juxtaposition and separation of the two buildings gives them a small scale village like look from the street. These buildings are connected with a friendly sky-walk - bridging the gap. The lively axis of the forms announces the two dual entries.

An Urban Convention Center

A large stand-alone municipal facility that is designed to accommodate trade shows, meetings, expositions and conventions.

Train Station

A formation: A pattern of structural study which replicates itself by creating a free-space as a channel within its integral, interlocking system.

Caduceus Tower

The Caduceus Tower is a futuristic mega structure that is intended to be erected in Hong Kong in the year 2030. It is destined to function in grace as a living vertical city, enveloped with a massive double skin structure for any sort of attack like the 9-11. Its double-helix transit system is programmed to be punctual, fast and comfortable. The very essence of this vertical city is being energy efficient, sustainable or green. It is facilitated to accommodate educational compartments, fire & police stations, shopping centers and residential units. It is meant to be self-sustaining organism that functions with the aid of computerized programs but not without human touch.
